Poetry is Busy Studio

Poetry is Busy Studio is an artist-run cultural initiative under the leadership of award-winning Queer, Afro-Caribbean poet Yara Liceaga-Rojas, focused on the well-being and sustainability of artists and the creative sector.

We do professional development workshops & individual consulting for artists and cultural organizations, performances and readings, conferences, skill-sharing sessions, and more.

Our mission is to disrupt, provoke, and heal the field of cultural work through care practices applied to professional development consultancy for artists, events, and art projects.

We dream of an intersectional feminist creative ecosystem rooted in alternative design practices, cultural offerings, and solidarity economies.

Trabajamos bilingual in Spanish, providing services online and in person.

In tune with the rhythms of our artistic lives and daily grind, we are designing and implementing what it is like to create, imagine, and manage art projects with wellbeing at their core.

We are a small group of artists working remotely; our communications, projects, and events are generated at a pace that defies market demands or the urgency of hyper-productivity in the field.
